What is ROADRALLYINFO.COM?
RoadRallyInfo.com is a free mailing list for road rally planners to easily get information out to
potential participants. In years past, planners typically used "snail mail" (postal service) to send
out information. Manual lists and card catalogs were maintained individually by each rally.
With modern technology, this has now been moved to the internet and email. This website is intended
to simplify this process and most importantly, get the information out to potential participants!!
Wasn't there "GAMECONTROL.ORG" that did the same thing?
Yes there was. In approximately 2002/2003, a rally planner made the first steps at computerizing
the old manual mailing lists. They registered and created GAMECONTROL.ORG, the first internet web
site in Metro Detroit for this purpose. It ran for many years under that website and name. Over time,
more and more rallies were added to the site. In approximately 2007, that person moved out of state
and took GAMECONTROL.ORG with them, leaving the hundreds of Metro Detroit participants somewhat stranded.
With quick action, the mailing list was moved to a GOOGLE mailing list and ran for a couple years that
way. In 2010, GOOGLE decided to make some drastic changes to their mailing list service and that complicated
how GameControl was accessed and used. It was decided that a new, permanent, website was needed. This
site was created and the mailing list moved to it to make it easier to use and maintain. We ARE the same people!!
Do you sell or share your mailing list?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! We ALL hate spam mail, period, and we will not be any part of it. All emails are
100% confidential. Even the planners of the various hunts do not have access to it. In addition, we
take great effort to keep emails hidden from unscrupulous individuals who "scrape" websites trying to locate
printed emails so they can be spammed.
